Beautiful
weather and nicely paved roads, bring us to Vukovar fast. There we see some of
the remains of the last civil war. The city fell to the Serbs on 18 November
1991. The monument, with 938 bodies found in a mass grave, tells part of that
story. Some houses and the water tower show still the bullet holes of that war.
But most of the houses have been retrofitted or built new.
After a
long day Bert, Scott and I end up in the Dunav Hotel, beautifully situated at
the shore of the Danube.
